Scouts are going canoeing (and maybe swimming depending on the weather and/or braveness) and you are invited to join at the tranquil riverside Windeyer Scout Activity Centre!
The camp will be run as a Lightweight camp where Scouts will have an opportunity to learn lightweight camping & cooking and water activity skills.
Please take a few moments to review the camp information below.
Activities:
Scouts will participate in a wide range of activities that may include: Swimming, Canoeing, Bushwalking, Observation tasks, Pioneering, Construction.
Scouts will be responsible for bringing and cooking their own food.
Transport:
- Leaders and Parents to drive Scouts to/from Scout Hall & Camp Windeyer

Packing Lists:
Pack for a 2 night standing camp with swimming. Since it is still August it may be worth bringing a wetsuit if you have one.
Scouts to provide all their own food and cooking equipment. There are toilets and water provided on site.

Equipment:
All equipment should be provided by Scouts where possible
There is equipment available to borrow from the group as needed, plus contact Mang or Platypus with details of what you need
Lightweight gas stoves are preferred (from a learning/practivce point of view) however their will be the ability to cook on open fire.
Scouts can provide their own tents or borrow from the group as needed,.
Leaders will be towing with the canoes.
Sleeping Arrangements:
Youth:
- Scouts may sleep in hike tents, hammocks, hiking fly’s or bivvies as preferred
- Sharing tents is encouraged
- Please supply your own personal tent if possible. Group has limited tents available.
Adults:
- Leaders should supply their own tents and sleeping gear or borrow from the Group if available.
Meals & Dining:

- Scouts to do their own grocery shopping
Meals:
- Scouts will cook individually for themselves
