Join us for an event focused on how we, as speech pathologists, can enhance self-advocacy skills among neurodivergent individuals from pre-school to secondary school.This event is tailored for paediatric speech pathologists and allied health assistants seeking to empower their families of neurodivergent individuals and the individuals themselves to confidently assert their needs, rights, and preferences.
Topics covered that will be covered:
1) Understanding self-advocacy
2) Components of self-advocacy - Knowledge of self, knowledge of rights and communication
3) Hierarchy towards increasing levels of self-advocacy
4) What skills do we need to effectively self-advocate and how we can promote these in our supports
5) You will also receive a questionnaire to identify and set goals with clients and families
