GUEST SPEAKER: Manuela Whitford - Friends with DignityI’m a proud mum of 3 and grandparent to 1, happy wife and a dedicated advocate for victim-survivors of domestic and family violence. Born in Mozambique and raised in South Africa, my family and I immigrated to Australia in 2010. With over 25 years of experience as a registered nurse, I worked within Queensland Health's correctional services, where I observed the harsh realities faced by women impacted by domestic violence. In 2012 I founded Assist-A-Sista that continued as Friends with Dignity from 2015, a national not-for-profit organization committed to assisting individuals displaced by domestic violence by providing essential resources and support.
In 2023, I left my very rewarding and awesome career as a Clinical Nurse at Qld Health to offer my dedication and focus to those most vulnerable in a fulltime capacity
I love what I do and the generosity and dedication from the Community is what inspires me to do more!
