• Join Steamrail Victoria as we operate 2 steam locomotives with heritage E Type carriages between Mernda and Reservoir on Sunday 5th October 2025.

  These shuttles will travel on a scenic return journey through Melbourne's Northern Suburbs between Mernda and Reservoir.

• Take a seat in our heritage carriages with beautiful wood veneer panelling, pressed tin ceilings and opening windows to fully experience the steam era!
  You may also join us on our transfer trains from Newport or Flinders Street to Mernda in the morning or Mernda to Flinders Street or Newport in the evening.

• Come along for a ride on The Vintage Train for a fun family day out through Melbourne's suburbs.

• TICKET OPTIONS
  5 x return shuttles will depart Mernda Railway Station at 10:10am, 11:10am, 12:50pm, 1:50pm and 2:50pm. These 50 minute shuttles will operate to Reservoir Station and return, passengers will not be able to join/leave the train at Reservoir.

• One way transfer trips will depart at the following times - 
  Newport (Platform 1) 8:37am or Flinders Street (Platform 2) 9:10am to Mernda arriving at 9:58am.
  Mernda 4:10pm to Flinders Street (Platform 2) 5:00pm, or Newport (Platform 2) arriving at 5:30pm.
