This one-day workshop is tailored to staff who have a role in managing or investigating complaints of gender-based violence, harassment, bullying, discrimination or workplace conflict investigations.Upon completion of this workshop, participants will understand:
The prevalence and impacts of interpersonal trauma
University specific context and risk factors
The impact of trauma and stress on the brain, memory and recall
The complexity of gathering evidence in the absence of witnesses or in alcohol- or drug-related matters
Barriers to making complaints and their impact during investigations
Experiences of complainants, respondent and witnesses during investigations
Applying trauma informed principles to investigations
Trauma-informed interviewing techniques
Considerations for decision makers
Wellbeing of complaints managers and investigators
