Occasional Address to be delivered by Mr Sam Walsh, AOMr Sam Walsh, AO, onetime CEO of Rio Tinto has had not only an illustrious career in business but a long and diverse engagement with the Arts and Culture. As well as being the Co-Patron and Chair of Theatre 180 he is Co-Patron of Voyces, the Choral Collective, and is a WASO Orchestral Chair Sponsor. Previously he was Chair of Black Swan State Theatre, Western Australia, Chair of the Western Australian Chamber for Arts and Culture, Chair of Australian Business Arts Foundation, Western Australia, Director of the Royal Opera House and Ballet (Covent Garden), United Kingdom, and Chair of the Australia Council for the Arts, Australia.
Underpinning this distinguished life in business and the Arts, Sam's Faith and commitment to the Church have been central to his being. He is presently Chair, Anglican Perth Diocesan Trustees, and a Lay Canon of St George's Cathedral, Perth, where he is a regular worshipper.
