AAFT PD: Beyond Words - Art Therapy for Families and Couples

About
An online professional development session presented by the Australian Association of Family Therapy (AAFT).This presentation aims to promote art-making as an alternative way to have thoughts and feelings expressed when working with families and couples. Art-making techniques sometimes suit family themes and can cross generational barriers, indirectly achieving effective outcomes. There is opportunity to consider art techniques relevant to practice that are easy to grasp when family therapists decide to use ‘some art’ in their work. Artistic skills are not required to provide effective family/couple art therapy.
Paper and oil pastels/crayons will be required for a sample drawing task.
About the presenter: Annette Coulter is a registered art psychotherapist with 48 years of clinical experience. She is a clinical family art therapist, an accredited PACFA supervisor, a published author, an IDT trainer/supervisor, (Interactive Drawing Therapy), and a practising artist.
