About
A student led conference provides an authentic opportunity for students to share their growth as a learner. This process involves students sharing a range of learning activities, experiences or completed tasks with parents and guardians. Students will also goal set and reflect upon previously established goals. As students take a more active role in their educational goals, they will become more independent, self-directed learners.• To celebrate what has been happening in classroom
• To place the spotlight on the student as a learner.
• To enhance metacognitive practices with the student taking responsibility for sharing learning with parents/guardians.
• To develop conversations about student learning.
• Students are responsible for leading the conference, not the teacher
• To involve both the student and parents/guardians/siblings
• Students can demonstrate an understanding through a variety of learning situations.
