A Pilgrimage of Hope; In the Footsteps of Mary MacKillop

About
August is the Solemnity of Saint Mary of the Cross MacKillop and her legacy is celebrated across the Diocese. In conjunction with the Year of Jubilee we invite you to join us for Mass on Saturday 30 August at 9.30am at St Joseph’s Parish Helidon. Bishop Ken Howell will preside at the Mass which will be followed by a Pilgrimage in Saint Mary MacKillop's honour, remembering her tireless work in rural areas. The Pilgrimage will be a 1.5km walk through Helidon toward the Railway Street Rotunda where a pictorial history of Helidon is found, including the story of the Josephites presence in the town. The walk will continue along Mary MacKillop Street and return to the Parish Hall for a BYO picnic lunch. As we walk as ‘Pilgrims of Hope’ we remember Saint Mary MacKillop who visited the town of Helidon in September 1875 and again in August 1879. Further information: ample parking at the church, tea & coffee provided, no disabled toilets available.Date
