About
Wildcare’s Basic Reptile Course is primarily focused on those seeking to develop their skills and competencies in rescuing, rehabilitating, raising and releasing reptiles and is an opportunity for existing rehabilitators nearing the end of their three-year authority-to-operate for reptile rehabilitation to update and re-qualify. The course includes:• reptile identification;
• initial assessment of reptile condition and health, including common injuries and diseases;
• reptile rescue, handling and transport techniques;
• reptile feeding, housing and rehabilitation equipment;
• reptile release and
• rehabilitator health and safety precautions concerning potential injury and zoonotic (transmissible between animal and human) diseases.
There will also be a guest speaker from Unusual Pet Vets Canberra.
