The Aquinas Music Department is excited to offer our Semester 2 Introductory Instrumental Lesson program.
Now that students have settled into the school year, it is the perfect time to try a musical instrument. We have limited availability for lessons in clarinet, flute, trombone, trumpet, percussion, drums and saxophone.
Over 10 weeks of this program, students will be given a thorough grounding in their instrument, learn basic music theory, get to know our music teachers, get used to having lessons at school, and see how music can enhance their school life.
- A choice of lesson format: 30 minute individual instrumental lessons, or 30 minute shared lessons (in groups of 2 or 3)
- Provision of a school musical instrument for the duration of the package at half the normal rate
- 30 minute individual instrumental lessons
The cost of the program is as follows:
- 10 x individual lessons with instrument hire: $522.50
- 10 x small group lessons with instrument hire: $362.50
- 10 x individual lessons (drums): $460.
Lessons will be taken through Term 3 and 4, during class time

Instrument Care
Instrument care is expected by all students; however, if a basic problem arises, the school will repair hired instruments. If an instrument is damaged due to the negligence of the student, that student’s family will be required to cover the cost of repair. Instruments must clearly show the student’s name and telephone number.
Please be aware that in the event of school equipment being taken away from Aquinas College premises, you will be responsible for any damage or loss of the equipment whilst in your possession. For insurance purposes, Aquinas College may exercise its right to collect the insurance deductible from you in the event of damage or loss to equipment whilst in your possession away from Aquinas College premises. To avoid this possibility, we suggest that you contact your home and contents insurance company and add to your contents policy any school items whilst in your care and custody. Please note that the current contents deductible for Aquinas College is $1,000. Definitions: Deductible – This is the sum of money which has to be paid towards each claim.
