Term 4 Landscape with a Focus on Colour.
About
For those who want a deeper understanding of how colour creates a sense of perspective, depth, mood, etc., we dive deeper into:• Colour value, tone, temperature, and how these work in a painting.
• How to create a sense of depth, form, light, mood etc.,
• How to limit your pallet and expand your range of colours, without making mud.
• How to identify, mix and use Warm and Cool colours to energise your painting.
This term we will initially focus on the practical ‘how to’ steps listed above to understand the conventions of colour used in painting. (Information also available in handouts).
We will complete a number of colour exercises and charts to be used as an ongoing reference and aid to develop your personal ‘colour code’ for painting.
We will then complete a landscape image, guided step-by-step to included elements of depth, light, form, mood etc., where you can apply and develop your understanding and use of colour.
