A fantastic opportunity for all lovers of live Jazz to hear one of the best clarinet and saxophone players in the world today - Andy Firth, Australia’s virtuoso clarinet player, teams up with songstress Rebecca Mendoza and the Joe Ruberto Trio in concert to present the music of Benny Goodman and Billie Holiday from the Verve and Decca years.

Andy is one of a very small number of Australian artists to have ever performed a concert under their own name at Carnegie Hall New York. On the evening of the 21st March 2008, Andy Firth played a concert billed as “Goodman & Beyond” to a standing ovation.
Andy has performed with such jazz and blues legends as B.B. King, Buddy De Franco, Ingrid Jensen, Diana Krall, Wynton Marsalis, Kenny Ball Jazz Band, Acker Bilk, and many more. In 2006 Andy was honoured with the Australian Mo Award for “Best Jazz Instrumentalist.”
Rebecca began her career singing blues and jazz after been influenced by singers such as Sarah Vaughn, Billie Holiday, Nancy Wilson and Ella Fitzgerald. She later moved on to musical theatre where she has performed major roles in musicals around the world such as “We Will Rock You” (in Australia and Japan), “Miss Saigon” (Germany), “Lord of the Rings” (Toronto) “Hair” (Australia and Asia), and many others.
