Under the guidance of muralist Desmond Sweeney, explore the colour wheel and learn about different colour schemes. Choose your own scheme and create a personalised colour palette using acrylic painting techniques.Examine colour theory and relationships through thumbnail design methods. Learn to observe colours and use them effectively as compositional tools to connect and balance various elements in your work.
This course is designed for artists, interior designers, textile creators, illustrators, gardeners, chefs, and anyone who incorporates colour into their creative work.
Suitable for ages 16+
Materials supplied include:
- Paints
- Brushes
- Small canvas
- Palette
- Colour wheel
Desmond has worked for Opera Australia and NIDA, and created large-scale murals nationally. Whether you're curious about colour, working on a project, or want to enhance your art practice, you will leave this class with a comprehensive understanding of colour.
