Join Sally Meakin, our local basketry enthusiast and RMIT Studio Textile Design graduate, who first discovered the magic of basket making during her studies. Enjoy a creative and relaxed session as she guides you through the art of coiled basketry.Discover the technique of wrapped core coiling using beautiful hand dyed raffia.
This workshop is designed for both beginners and those wanting to build on
existing skills.
You'll create your own unique and colourful pieces, starting small and building confidence as you go. Choose to make cup-sized trinket baskets, coasters, a pair of raffia earrings, or tiny decorative baskets—the choice is yours!
Throughout the event you'll get, thoughtful, hands-on instruction in a welcoming environment. A curated maker’s kit with hand selected, quality materials and
detailed makers’ notes to guide and inspire your continued practice at home.
