Adapted for the stage by Vanessa Johnson.Step into the hallowed halls of Welton Academy, where tradition, honour, discipline, and excellence rule until one teacher dares to inspire his students to think for themselves. When the unconventional Mr Keating introduces the boys to poetry, passion, and the Latin cry Carpe Diem- “Seize the Day” - their lives are changed forever.
As the boys begin to embrace their own voices, they find themselves at odds with the strict expectations of their world. Heart-stirring, funny and profoundly moving, Dead Poets Society is a powerful celebration of youth, friendship and courage.
The play explores emotional and challenging themes, including mental health, grief and self-harm. These moments are handled with care but may be upsetting for some audience members. This production is not recommended for young viewers, and parental guidance is strongly advised.
