Mauritius is a high-stakes psychological thriller disguised as a character comedy, written byaward-winning playwright Theresa Rebeck. Think Succession meets Raiders of the Lost Ark. But in a bookshop.
This intimate site-specific theatre production is set and staged in the quirky second-hand bookshop Desire Books & Records, in Manly — creating a unique theatrical experience where the audience becomes part of the shop and part of the drama.
This production is an invitation to Sydney's theatregoers to witness what we call 'pin-drop theatre'— where a shift in body weight causes a gasp from the audience. The 30-seat capacity amplifies the tension, and the visceral closeness heightens every moment.
