Enjoy a curated session of the most exciting short films from filmmakers around Australia. These sessions cover a wide variety of topics. genres and themes, showcasing some of the brightest young minds across the country as well as films nominated for our coveted Awards ceremony.The Young Australian Film Festival aims to celebrate and empower the next generation of Storytellers.
As young filmmakers, we realised that despite the wide range of film schools across Australia, there were very few film festivals dedicated to showcasing the work of emerging young talent. As a result of these challenges, we created the Young Australian Film Festival, an event for young filmmakers to showcase their work in a forum that is affordable, accessible and inclusive for filmmakers from all walks of life.
The festival features screenings of all the finalists from September 10th - September 14th, with a red carpet networking event, followed by the award ceremony on the 14th.
