YAFF 2025 opens with a showcase of the incredible work of all the young women across Australia. This specialty screening celebrates the illustrious work of women, and the stories they have to share. The screening is followed by an Opening Night drinks and networking event.The Young Australian Film Festival aims to celebrate and empower the next generation of Storytellers.
As young filmmakers, we realised that despite the wide range of film schools across Australia, there were very few film festivals dedicated to showcasing the work of emerging young talent. As a result of these challenges, we created the Young Australian Film Festival, an event for young filmmakers to showcase their work in a forum that is affordable, accessible and inclusive for filmmakers from all walks of life.
The festival features screenings of all the finalists from September 10th - September 14th, with a red carpet networking event, followed by the award ceremony on the 14th.
