Featured at the Victorian Pride Centre, YAFF presents a screening dedicated to the wondrous works of LGBTQIA+ filmmaking. Covering various themes, topics and genres, this screening features incredible stories and filmmaking made by the LGBTQIA+ community.The Young Australian Film Festival aims to celebrate and empower the next generation of Storytellers.
As young filmmakers, we realised that despite the wide range of film schools across Australia, there were very few film festivals dedicated to showcasing the work of emerging young talent. As a result of these challenges, we created the Young Australian Film Festival, an event for young filmmakers to showcase their work in a forum that is affordable, accessible and inclusive for filmmakers from all walks of life.
The festival features screenings of all the finalists from September 10th - September 14th, with a red carpet networking event, followed by the award ceremony on the 14th.
