The First Light Widowed Support Events are unique events that empower attendees to navigate their grief and take steps towards rebuilding healthy, successful and fulfilling lives after the death of their partner or spouse.

Designed to improve mental wellbeing, resilience and community connection, our event brings widowed people together in a positive atmosphere to:

• grow their peer-support network
• access informed resources
• and offer the hope and inspiration that will enable them to take steps forward with their grief.

One of the features that makes our events so unique is that the organisers, facilitators and speakers are all widowed themselves.

The events are hosted by widowed people, for widowed people – attendees are surrounded by those with a lived experience of grief – something that can only be understood and validated by others who share this life experience.

Cost:

• $95 First Light subsidised ticket / $190 non-subsidised ticket

Your ticket includes:

• Catering: arrival tea and coffee, buffet lunch, morning or afternoon tea
• Experienced speakers who will deliver messages of hope and inspiration, with practical elements to implement as you move forward with your grief
• Community-building opportunites - providing connection with others who share similar experiences and circumstances
• Information about resources and programs available to provide continued support after the event
• A take home information pack 
• A supportive and positive atmosphere, where the focus is not on ‘death’, but on rebuilding a life after loss and connecting you with a community of others who understand.

Parking
We encourage use of public transport - the venue is located 700m from Central train station, with options to catch a bus located within 260m of the train station). 

Brisbane Marriott Hotel has a limited number of car parks avaialble for delegates for $59. Other options include:
