About
As part of VKA's aim to bring in annual series of events, we're excited to announce the 2nd Victorian State Taikai event for 2025 - with a very special guest!Bow-making demonstration & Takeyumi Q&A
The VKA is very excited to announce that Mr Munehiro Shibata (柴田宗博), a yumishi (bowmaker) from Kyoto, has accepted our invitation to come down for a bow-making demonstration and a Q&A session to answer any questions you have about takeyumi. He will be bringing down a range of takeyumi and will be available during the Taikai. A separate form will be sent by email for any questions you may have and what type of yumi (eg. size and strength) that you would like to see, so that we can pre-collect for Shibata-san to prepare for

Other Notes
No catering will be available during the event. The venue is located near a number of restaurants to source your own meals during lunch break.
Please be aware that the space may be tight. The venue, while achieves 28m shooting distance at shai, does not have room for much else (ie. another tachi would not be able to wait at honza). However, the venue is wide enough to allow for equipment and personal items. We ask participants to bring only what's required to the event to save space. Thank you for your understanding.
