The Shalom Field Hospital Retreat is a weekend healing retreat for those desiring healing or desiring to heal a friend. The retreat will give you the experience in praying easy Ignatian spiritual healing exercises and practice in knowing how to choose the right healing exercise. The healing desired may be a case of first aid and comfort, or more serious wounds, or for situations that over time feel hopeless. The healing exercises will invite you into a relationship with God the healer, a relationship that will remain with you for life.
Pope Francis imagines the church as a frontline field hospital, a church that is quickly responsive to urgent needs, adaptable to the situation, mobile and safe. It is always near the people where they suffer, are wounded and need healing.
These Ignatian spiritual healing exercises are as much about hope, empowerment and peace and they are about particular needs. So they serve well as useful strategies and helps in the ups and downs of ordinary daily life. This is a resource to treasure.
Please note. The spiritual exercises and this retreat are for anyone of good will, from any church tradition or none, from church goers to searchers and pilgrims. All are welcome.
If this resonates with your ministry or holy desires, then do not miss this opportunity to pray and learn.
Fr Michael is an international speaker, a trained professional giver of the Ignatian Spiritual Exercises, and author of seven spirituality and healing books, including the awarding winning Gospels for Prayer and The First Spiritual Exercises. With degrees in theology and arts, an international spirituality trainer, the National Director of the First Spiritual Exercises ministry of the Society of Jesus, and Jesuit of some fifty years, Michael is well qualified to guide this weekend.
* For those interested, more copies of the book will also be available at a special Shalom price after the retreat.
