Discover the flavours, stories and community spirit of St Albans on this guided food and culture tour. Over one afternoon, you’ll visit three iconic local spots:
• Sam’s Big Market – A much-loved fresh food market that’s been feeding the West since 1973. Explore a wide range of stalls including butchers, seafood shops, delis, fruit and vegetable stores, nut and spice shops, and more – all reflecting St Albans’ rich multicultural mix.
• A Vietnamese Restaurant, Pho Nuon – Enjoy authentic street food dishes while learning how Vietnamese migration has shaped the suburb’s food scene.
• An Indian Sweet Shop, Pista House – Indulge in traditional Indo-Pak desserts, such as gulab jamun, and take home a box of best sellers to savour later.
Led by a local guide, the tour also shares stories of migration, family traditions, and the role food plays in bringing the community together in St Albans. After the food tour you can stay enjoy the BE BOLD FESTIVAL 2025, Saturday 18 October, 3-7pm
