Aboriginal Weaving with Jodie Munday

Come along and join in a short workshop with Wiradjuri woman and artist Jodie Munday, introducing coil weaving and wrap stitch with raffia to create a small coaster for your favourite coffee mug or small basket for little treasures. Enjoy friendly conversation while you participate in this process.
About Jodie Munday
Jodie Munday a proud women of Wiradjuri, Celtic and British heritage is a practicing weaving and artist and has been for many years. Jodie's practice includes painting both small and large scale including murals, weaving in both traditional and contemporary ways using multiple different techniques and materials from her cross cultural ancestors, drawing, wood burning and poker work.
Jodie uses recycled materials working as sustainably to protect and nurture Country.
Weaving, educational and art workshops also form a large part of Jodie's practice with her work across the Southern Tablelands, Southern Highlands, Upper Lachlan Shire and the ACT.
Jodie has been a fnalist in numerous art awards over the past two years, receiving several highly commended recognitions, and in 2024 she was awarded the Sustainability Award at the National Contemporary Art Prize.
Jodie's practice focusses heavily on Country, place, culture, ecosystems and the native flora and fauna as well as human connection.
