Australian International Kata Competition
About
This is a Kata event for Kyokushin Kata practitioners, 1st Kyu and above, 15 years or above.The first round will comprise two competitors performing the Mandatory Kata simultaneously,
judged by red and white flags. There will be one Referee seated centrally and 4 corner Judges.
Mandatory Kata are:
1st Kyu to Nidan – Gekisai sho
Sandan and above – Saiha
Elective Kata demonstrated must be commensurate with the competitor’s grade.
1st Kyu to Nidan - Saifa, Gekisai-dai, Pinan Yon, Pinan Go.
Sandan and above – Garyu, Seipai, Seienchin, Kanku dai, Sushiho.
The competition will be of straight knockout type (single elimination).
