The Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Standard course teaches adults how to assist other adults experiencing mental health problems or crises until professional help is available. It provides practical skills and knowledge to recognize, respond, and offer support, using a structured action plan. The course covers common mental health problems like anxiety, depression, psychosis, and substance use, as well as crisis situations like suicidal thoughts and panic attacks.This course will be facilitated by Genevieve Rix, a Counselling Psychologist practicing in Creswick, Vic. Genevieve has facilitated numerous Mental Health First Aid courses since attaining accreditation in 2022 and looks forward to meeting new participants in November. Please Note: Participants must complete both days of training to be eligible for accreditation as a Mental Health First Aider.
