The Boîte presents Vox Humana

Proposed by the late Zulya Kamalova initially in 2023, the Vox Humana (Latin: human voice) is a choir project developed to explore traditional songs and their place in peoples lives, in the past and now. The choir will be singing songs in Lithuanian, Georgian and Meriam Mir.
Vox Humana is also the name of a reed stop on the pipe organ, and has been used in various contexts to name songs and albums.
We are proposing a much smaller project than Zulya originally envisaged, working with 3 of her chosen groups – The Lost Clog, Lithuanian super group who can teach us some songs about gardens and insects and drinking, Tsinskaro, the Georgian four piece vocal ensemble, where Krys Derwinski who directs Melbourne Georgian Choir will teach some songs, and some songs we already know from Maiem last year, directed by Stella Savy and Deb Lowah Clark.
Stepas Levickis of the Clogs will help us draw the threads together.
