FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

What does it cost to attend?
This session is funded by the Department of Health, so it is FREE for anyone to attend.

Which part of the session do I attend?
Anyone is welcome to attend the full three hours. The first two hours is geared toward community members who have some experience with having contracted polio or know someone who had polio or works with someone who had polio in any country or region of Australia. The third hour is oriented to local clinicians (GPs, Allied Health, NDIS, Aged Care Workers) who need to understand aspects of care for those with post-polio conditions.

Should I attend this session if I am not sure I had polio?
Yes! Our outreach has taught us that many people living in Australia who were exposed to polio can develop late effects of polio, and it is difficult to diagnose.

As a clinician, can I get CPD credit?
CPD credit (one to three hours) can be provided upon request for those in clinical disciplines. Please inform Michael of your CPD request at the end of the session you attend.

Will there be food and drink?
At most sessions, coffee, tea and biscuits will be available for attendees.

Where do I park?
Most locations have a designated car park and street parking.

I’m in a wheelchair, will there be space for me?
Yes. We choose venues that are fully accessible for wheelchair and powerchair users.

Can I bring my partner, family, carer?
Yes. You are encouraged to bring anyone who has a vested interest in managing your health conditions.
