The music of Bugs Bunny meets 3 Billy Goats Gruff
We are excited to present a unique opportunity for primary students to experience the magic of live opera performance through a specially-crafted children's opera titled FIGATROLL.
A timeless re-telling of the story of 3 Billy Goats Gruff, FIGATROLL combines music, operatic storytelling, and visual arts and design. In a narrative revolving around three siblings - Milly, Silly and Willy Goat - who embark on a musical journey to audition as a trio at the Opera House, dealing with their differences and grievances, and overcoming fear of ‘the outsider’ (Figatroll) to discover the strength that comes from working together - our trio becomes a quartet!
With music children will recognise from TV and movies, FIGATROLL is a unique opportunity for primary students to experience the magic of live opera performance, and to reinforce the important values of accepting an ‘outsider’, embracing diversity, and encouraging empowerment through cooperation.
Australian Contemporary Opera Company is thrilled to present this work in partnership with Bayside City Council.
