Mosaic Embroidery Workshops with Tomomi Mimura
About
World-renowned Japanese embroidery artist, Tomomi Mimura is coming to Hobart to run a series of workshops. Tomomi created and popularised mosaic embroidery - an eye-catching technique. Hosted by Bombed Yarns and the Little Japanese Haberdashery, these workshops will be held across 18 & 19 October 2025.The workshops are:
- Tiny Bear Mosaic Embroidery (9:30-12:30, 18 October)
- Squirrel Plushie Mosaic Embroidery (1:30-4:30, 18 October)
- Embroidery for Knits (9:30-12:30, 19 October)
- Big Bear Mosaic Embroidery (1:30-4:30, 19 October)
Sign up for as many of the workshops as you like! You will receive more information about the workshop/s in the weeks leading up to the event.
All you need to bring to the workshops are some thread scissors and a 15cm embroidery hoop. For the "Dissolving Nonwoven Fabric Design" workshop, please also bring a garment or knitted piece to embroider onto (a finer fabric will work the best).
All tickets will be released at 7pm on 1 September.
