We are delighted to be hosting an in-conversation event to celebrate the release of Nature’s Memory by zoologist and writer Jack Ashby, joined by Tasmanian author and science communicator Zoe Kean.In Nature’s Memory, Jack reveals the hidden stories behind the world’s great natural history museums – from enormous whale skeletons to delicate cabinets of insects – uncovering both the eccentricities and the enduring value of these collections. Part history, part exploration, the book is a love letter to the wonder and planet-saving potential of museums.
Jack Ashby is Assistant Director of the University Museum of Zoology, Cambridge, President of the Society for the History of Natural History, and author of Platypus Matters: The Extraordinary Story of Australian Mammals.
Zoe Kean is an award-winning science writer with a passion for evolution, ecology, and the environment. A former member of the ABC Science Unit, Zoe is the author of Why Are We Like This.
