Introduction to Mime (Auslan fluent students only)

An introduction to the elements of mime and non-verbal storytelling. It is specifically catering to deaf people including hearing people who already know Auslan well (people from deaf parents, interpreters etc) The workshop is all ages and will be delivered exclusively in Auslan (Australian Sign Language). The art of mime empowers performers and storytellers to create dramatic, comic and compelling non verbal theatre.Tutor Bio: James performed mime in his early life and appeared on Young Talent Time (Network 10) as a contestant. James has worked as an actor with the Australian Theatre of the Deaf in Sydney and Mercury's Wings Theatre Company on the Gold Coast.
James' return to mime saw him undertake training with Broken Box Mime Theatre and online with Lorin Erin Salm (Mime Theatre Studio, Los Angeles). James has also trained in Clown with Andrew Cory (Jesture).
