This is an online zoom, chemistry practical assessment task hosted by Jacob StricklingAges: Students aged 14 to 16
Date: Friday 5th Sept.
Time: 12:00pm to 4:00pm AEST
Note: There is an hour break from 2:00 to 3:00pm
Equipment required: Either a Chemistry Set for High School or a General Science Set or the
Junior Chemistry Sets 1&2
Chemicals Required: Citric Acid, Bicarb Soda
The practical task is quite straightforward yet conducive to scientific thinking
The practical task will be emailed out a few days before the event.
Participants need to read through the task and answer some questions prior to the event.
12:00 to 12:10 Discuss the experimental procedure.
12:10 to 1:00 Complete the practical part of the task.
1:00 to 2:00 Complete the data analysis, discussion and conclusion.
2:00 to 3:00 Break
3:00 to 4:00 Jacob will systematically go through the task and answers. Students will self mark the task. Questions can be asked.
This part will be recorded and a link shared.
