Empowering Recovery in Chronic Pain Care
About
Empowering Recovery - Contemporary Science & Practice in Chronic Pain and other protective feelings.Friday 22 May & Saturday 23 May 2026
Alongside mental ill health, chronic pain is one of the most pressing health challenges of our time.
Pain, depression, anxiety, fatigue, and PTSD often overlap, contributing to disability, lost workdays, and early retirement across Australia — including in our rural and regional communities.
The good news? Rapid advances in the science of feelings, are transforming how we understand them. We will focus on chronic pain but also discuss other disabling feelings such as anxiety, fatigue, PTSD. How do these feelings become persistent, and how can we support people towards resilience and recovery?
Scientific progress is opening up new possibilities - not only for people living with pain, but for how we deliver care across disciplines and settings.
Empowering Recovery is a 12-hour professional development course for health and medical professionals working in rural and regional areas.
It brings together foundational science presented in Lorimer Moseley’s unique mix of stories and accessible neuroscience, contemporary evidence, practical clinical strategies, and ready-to-use resources that are shaping an international movement toward better pain-related outcomes and greater clinician confidence.
This collaborative initiative between Grampians Health, Pain Revolution, and the Commonwealth-funded EQUiPP Project will be evidence-based, interdisciplinary, practical, engaging - and yes, energising, with just the right amount of tired at the end of each day!.
Bring your curiosity, your experience, and a community-focused mindset.
