At this year’s NYWF, Echoes and Interruptions invites emerging and established voices to embrace unpredictability and explore what happens when stories are not just told but co-created.Echoes and Interruptions is an interactive storytelling experience where stories are never static and every voice has the power to shift the narrative. Writers will perform short stories, poems, or monologues, but the twist lies in the artist's ability to give up control.
The event blurs the lines between performer and audience, creating an open, fluid space where every voice has the potential to shape the outcome. This collaborative approach challenges traditional storytelling dynamics and explores how stories evolve when shared and transformed through multiple voices. The event will conclude with a reflective discussion on the experience, exploring how interruptions, collaboration, and shared space enrich the storytelling process.
