Haydn’s vibrant “Gypsy” Trio in G Major delights with its elegant melodies and exuberant, folk-inspired finale. Australian composer Anne Cawrse’s Songs Without Words offers a contemporary tribute to the Mendelssohn siblings, drawing inspiration from their iconic lyrical style and close artistic relationship. Cawrse’s work pays homage to Felix and Fanny Mendelssohn by weaving elements of their musical language into a modern setting, creating a thoughtful link between the past and present. Mendelssohn’s Piano Trio No.2 in C minor showcases Romantic lyricism and dramatic interplay between the instruments.
