An unmissable spring afternoon at Langley as the gorgeous American mezzo-soprano Kristen Leich and celebrated pianist Elyane Laussade showcase their captivating musicianship and technical prowess in Tragedy and Triumph.The program is a compelling one, featuring popular repertoire from some of the most famous composers in history: Handel, Mozart, Schubert and Schumann. Not forgetting Verlaine's evocative poetry brought to life in two of Faure’s Cinq Melodies. And we'll also celebrate the 150th Anniversary of Bizet’s opera Carmen as Kristen dazzles with the famous Habanera. Keeping in French mood, Elyane also offers her profound interpretation of Debussy's famous L’isle joyeuse. To conclude, Kristen will charm you with songs by William Bolcom and delight you with her dexterity in Rossini's Una voce poco fa.
