Discover how the data can support better crop and pasture decisions.Agriculture Victoria's Seasonal Risk Agronomist, Dale Boyd, will provide a seasonal update of the soil moisture profiles in the Wimmera. He will present key indicators to maximise the benefits from the investment in this technology.
Tim Powell of Integrated Irrigation will demonstrate the full range of features from the soil moisture probes rolled out across the Wimmera, with a focus on how farmers can easily access and apply the data to support on-farm decisions.
Wallup farmer Xander McRae will discuss the benefits and challenges of using soil moisture probes across his livestock and grain property. He will share how he has used soil probes and weather forecasts to make informed decisions such as cutting crops for hay and nitrogen application timing and rate.
