Join us for the Shirley Treacy Awards Online Award Presentation on Sunday 14 September at 2pm, where the winners and other prize recipients will be announced.
The online presentation will include a screening of the Overall Awards Finalists from each city performing their dance or variation. Our guest adjudicator Vicki Attard will be live at the presentation, to announce the winners and other prize recipients.
Held during August and September, in Mackay, Townsville, Cairns and Rockhampton, RAD students from these areas showcased their skills and experienced a new format of performance. Guest adjudicators Vicki Attard (originally from Mackay) and Janette Mulligan (originally from Townsville) adjudicated the overall award finalist performances from all cities and selected the prize recipients.

🎟 TICKETS AND ACCESS TO THE ZOOM EVENT
Tickets are $10 per household. Select one (1) ticket, to obtain a link to the Award Presentation that is valid for one household.
Once registered you will receive a link to join the online Presentation, which is valid for one household. We encourage family and friends to watch together as a group in your household on the Sunday afternoon.
Overall Award Finalists will receive a complimentary discount code to attend the Online Award Presentation with their family.
Teachers and other audience members are welcome to purchase a $10 ticket through Trybooking, in order to receive the link to watch the Award Presentation in their household.
⌚ DESCRIPTION / RUNNING ORDER
- The online presentation will include a screening of the Overall Awards Finalists from each city performing their dance or variation. Our guest adjudicator Vicki Attard will be live at the presentation, to announce the winners and other prize recipients.
- Duration - approx. 1hr15mins – from 2pm to approx. 3:15pm
- The Grade 4 & 5 performances will be shown first, followed by the Award presentation for that level. The Intermediate Foundation and Intermediate performances will be shown next, followed by the Award presentation for that level, and so on.
- If you can’t stay for the entire time, that’s ok.
- If you need to join a little later, part way through the Presentation, that’s ok too.
✨ GUEST ADJUDICATOR
Vicki Attard
Vicki Attard comes from Mackay, Queensland, where she studied ballet with Dawn Armstrong and Betty Meskell before her acceptance into The Australian Ballet School.
In 1985 she joined The Australian Ballet and was promoted to Coryphee in 1987, Soloiste in 1991, Senior Artiste in 1992 and Principal Artiste in 1993. She joined Sydney Dance Company for its 1989 season and rejoined The Australian Ballet in 1990.
Vicki performed all principal roles and many and varied leading roles during her 15 year career with the Australian Ballet. Vicki retired at the end of 1999, and immediately undertook and received a Graduate Diploma in Dance Instruction.
Early 2001 saw Vicki assisting Stanton Welch in restaging Madame Butterfly with The National Ballet of Canada for the ballet’s North American debut, and subsequent American seasons with Atlanta Ballet, Boston Ballet and Houston Ballet. Later in 2003 Vicki oversaw the final staging of Madame Butterfly for the Royal New Zealand Ballet, and once again restaged Madame Butterfly for The Australian Ballet in 2011.
Vicki has been instructing at many major Sydney institutions over the past 25 years and has produced her own unique pointe programs, entitled ‘My Beginner Pointe’ and ‘My Pointe’, which are all-encompassing programs specifically designed for young dancers and dance teachers alike, covering the safe dance practices and aesthetic components involved in the instruction of pointe work.
Vicki was appointed Interim Director of the Houston Ballet Academy by it’s company Director Mr. Stanton Welch AM and maintained the position for 2 and a half years where she oversaw 1,000+ students, 7 full time faculty members as well as co-managing the second company HBII.
Vicki continues to instruct and adjudicate within Australia and abroad.
Terms and Conditions of Attending - Shirley Treacy Awards Online Presentation:
- The Online Award Presentation is held online via Zoom, and online virtual meeting platform.
- Tickets to the Online Award Presentation are booked via Trybooking only and close at the specified dates and times outlined on the Trybooking page.
- Once tickets are booked, the Zoom link provided to access and attend the online Presentation via Zoom, is valid for one household only.
- Attendees and those who have registered for the online Presentation agree not to share or forward the Zoom link to others.
- Tickets are non-refundable and not transferable for change of mind or clash with another commitment, and late bookings cannot be accepted.
- Attendees of the Online Award Presentation agree that their image, vision and audio from their device, laptop or computer, or other means that is being used to access the Presentation, will be shared with the other attendees online, in real time across the Zoom platform.
- Attendees of the Online Award Presentation agree that they will not take photographic images, video or screen shots of any part of the Awards Presentation, without express permission from the overall award finalist performing and other person(s) visible online at the time, in real time, at the Awards Presentation.
- Attendees agree that the RAD may take photographic images or screen shots during the Online Award Presentation that may include their image at the time in real time, and may be used for promotional and/or reporting purposes, unless they inform RAD otherwise.
- Overall Award Finalists agree that the recording of them performing their dance or variation at the Shirley Treacy Awards, will be screened/shown/broadcast to attendees at the Online Award Presentation via the Zoom platform, as per the Terms and Conditions of Entry into the Shirley Treacy Awards.
- Details are subject to change, and RAD reserves the right to make changes where necessary.
- The adjudicators decisions are final.
- The Code of Conduct for teachers and parents on the RAD website must be adhered to or a participant will be disqualified from the Awards.
