The Hanson Garden
About
This is a large 10-acre Australian native bush block which is a wonderful habitat for native animals and local flora. Bev Hanson worked alongside Ellis Stones - who is considered the founding father of Australian Landscape Design. She acknowledges Ellis’s profound influence on her work, with many of his guiding principles strongly evident on the sloping property, in particular the way the garden works with the existing contours and shape of the land, in the use of local materials, her diverse collection of native plant species and her skill and sensitivity in placing large rocks within the designed landscape. Visitors are invited to enjoy the garden and the outer natural bush environment — to wander, sit at leisure or have a picnic.Location
