Exhibition opening - Ellen José Art Award for young women
His Worship the Mayor, Cr Hanna El Mouallem and Councillors of Bayside City Council invite you to the opening and announcement of the 2025 Ellen José Art Award for young women.
Opening remarks by Dr Joseph Toscano, Director of the Ellen José Memorial Foundation.
Join us to celebrate the second iteration of the Ellen José Art Award for young women, a $15,000 non-acquisitive triennial award designed to support young female artists in the early stages of their career. The award is held in honour of Ellen José, a pioneering Indigenous artist, radical activist and social justice campaigner and is a partnership between the Ellen José Memorial Foundation and Bayside City Council.

Judges: Kelly Gellatly, independent curator and Chair of the Sheila Foundation and Sophie Gerhard, Curator, Australian and First Nations, National Gallery of Victoria.
