A Therapeutic Blend: Bibliotherapy and IDT
About
On R U OK? Day I will be facilitating a FREE online session. Join us for a special biblio-IDT session to connect with other IDTers and engage in a drawing session, no-pressure environment.Date: Thursday 11 September 2025
Time: 10:00 – 11:00am (Brisbane) / 12:00 - 1:00pm (New Zealand)
What to bring: Just yourself and some drawing materials (paper, crayons, pastels)
Bibliotherapy is an expressive therapy that uses literature to help people navigate personal challenges and promote wellbeing. It's often used alongside other therapeutic modalities. To deepen the therapeutic process, one can engage in this creative approach, blending poems and Interactive Drawing Therapy (IDT). This involves processing the literature's themes, characters, and emotions non-verbally through a guided drawing activity.
Let’s take some time to reflect and check in with ourselves and each other.
Note: If you are registering from New Zealand, please be aware of the time difference.
