Julia Deans and Celia Church have been crossing musical paths since the early ’90s — from Headless Chickens and Banshee Reel, to Fur Patrol’s #1 hit Lydia and Celia’s acclaimed collaborations with Jon von Goes. When they finally met in Melbourne, their voices blended effortlessly and their friendship has been inseparable ever since.
Julia has gone on to become NZ rock royalty, with Silver Scroll and Taite Prize nominations, solo albums, and collaborations with the likes of Neil Finn and Tami Neilson. Celia has toured, recorded, and built a rich catalogue with Jonnie Goes To Church — their debut album drawing praise from Tim Rogers, Angie Hart and Rebecca Barnard.
Now, for one special night, the Julia Deans return to Melbourne for a show that brings it all together: a little Julia solo, a little Julia & Celia, a little Jonnie Goes To Church, and a lot of magic from a quarter century of sisterhood and song.
