The Visit is a powerful and unsettling classic by Friedrich Dürrenmatt that explores morality, justice and how far a town will go for riches. When the fabulously wealthy Claire Zachanassian sweeps back into her poor hometown, the locals welcome her with open arms—until she makes them an outrageous offer. She is prepared to give her hometown millions—but only in exchange for what she calls justice.
