Exploring Regulatory Problem Solving

Adam Beaumont, With Purpose Solutions and Dr Grant Pink, RECAP Consultants are leading a one day introductory workshop designed for regulators wishing to lead and support regulatory problem-solving efforts.‘Picking important problems, fixing them, and telling everyone’ is a practice, popularized by Malcolm Sparrow's book 'The Regulatory Craft,'. It is however, among the most challenging aspects to implement within an existing regulatory organisation, trying to rearrange itself around an on-going problems that your existing regulatory tools don’t address.
The session provides an opportunity for participants to engage with regulatory peers from outside of their organisation in discussions about implementation of regulatory problem solving approach.
Participants will have the chance to explore what effective problem-solving involves, discuss strategies for introducing it in their own organisation or enhancing existing systems, and review and refine processes where regulatory problem.
