General Information
Dear Cub Scouts & Parents,
The purpose of the Water Activities Day is to provide members with the opportunity to experience canoeing, motor boating and sailing as well as achieving some OAS competencies while having fun.
If time and weather permits, there is also swimming at Woolwich Baths.
You don’t need to have any experience to attend.
There will a sausage sizzle and can of soft drink for lunch.
Transport:
Make your own way to and from State Water Activities Centre (SWASH) - 73 The Point Rd, Woolwich
Wet Weather:
Barring severe weather, this event will run in the rain.
The event will be cancelled in the event of severe weather and a message will be sent via WhatsApp parents group.
Requirements:
On the day, remembering you will get wet, you will need to bring:
- any medication you require
- long hair will need to be tied back for sailing
- sunscreen
- hat (please don't bring your favourite hat as sometimes they go overboard)
- morning tea
- water bottle
- wear sunsafe clothing (long sleeves recommended)
- spray jacket (to keep warm power boating)
- wear fully enclosed shoes that will get wet (no crocs, thongs etc)
- dry clothes to travel home in

This activity:
- will be under direct adult supervision
- will involve both male and female youth members
- will have both male and female adult leaders present
