An Afternoon of Film, Conversation & Climate Action

Tuesday 30 September | 1.30 pm

Berninneit, Cowes

---

Join us for a special afternoon screening of Damon Gamu’s (2040, That Sugar Film) Future Council —

Damon Gameau takes eight children from around the globe to take a ride on his vegetable-oil-powered, yellow school bus on an epic excursion across Europe to find solutions for our greatest ecological challenges. This colourful touring party confront multinational uber-polluters, discover cutting-edge work at eco-minded organisations and marvel at the natural splendour of some of the continent’s most beautiful forests and lakes – it is a hopeful coming-of-age journey that dares to imagine a brighter future.

Continuing the impact-driven work of his previous films ‘2040’ and ‘That Sugar Film’, Gameau delivers a rousing tribute to youthful spirit. Future Council gathers a host of inspiring young minds who are frustrated by societal inaction, and shepherds them into the offices and meeting rooms of those in positions of power. It amounts to an optimistic portrait of what could be possible if adults actually listen to the kids set to inherit the (increasingly uninhabitable) Earth.

Film Screening + Panel & Q&A
After the film, join a dynamic conversation featuring local young changemakers, community leaders, and senior decision makers at Council.
