On Sunday, 19 October 2025, the Hellenic Art Theatre in Marrickville will resonate with voices, melodies, and emotion. A concert that is both a celebration and a tribute. Two performances, at 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm, will take audiences on a musical journey through the neighbourhoods of the stave — a journey where music becomes memory, and memory becomes song.

At the heart of this concert is a special honouring of Maria Fotiadis, whose voice and artistry have left an indelible mark on the cultural life of the Greek diaspora in Australia. Through her years of dedication and her deep connection to the songs of Greece, Maria has given the community not only music, but also a living bridge to its heritage. This evening acknowledges her immense contribution and celebrates her ongoing role in carrying Greek music into the future.

Alongside Maria, we will have her sons, Apostolos & Dimitris Fotiadis who will help navigate us through this musical journey. The newly established Greek Australian Romiosini Ensemble & Choir, under the direction of Dimitri Fotiadis, will also take the stage. Their debut marks a powerful new chapter — a generation of voices and musicians joining together to express their love for Greek culture and to carry it forward with pride and passion.

This concert is more than a musical perfomance. It is an awakening — a reminder of the power of song to connect, to heal, and to inspire. In a world where so much unfolds in the neighbourhoods around us, these songs rise to remind us of who we are, to connect us across generations, and to light the way forward with the power of culture and memory.

A musical journey that touches hearts, rekindles memories, and opens pathways for tomorrow. In honouring Maria’s journey, and in presenting the voices of the Greek Australian Romiosini Ensemble & Choir, we celebrate both the roots and the future of Greek music in Australia. We welcome you to share this evening with us — to sing, to feel, and to remember. Because every neighbourhood of the stave is also a neighbourhood of the soul.
