The Things You Didn't Know You Wanted to Know about Pregnancy and the Postpartum Period. This series dives beyond the blood tests and ultrasounds into the information you really want to maximise your health during pregnancy and your outcome after your birth.
This is a 4 part closed series, meaning you get 4 amazing opportunities to get to know your peers and learn from Leonie Mills Physio via informative and evidence based education sessions. The closed series means you will meet the same participants each fortnight and allow you to form long lasting bonds as these ladies become your biggest supporters as you enter motherhood. These 4 sessions are for women only, however there is a BONUS 5th session on offer where partners are welcome and encouraged to attend.
Eligible attendees must be pregnant and it's recommended they are 28 weeks pregnant or less at the first session to make the most of the series.
The series includes:
- Interactive presentations and education
- Simple exercise sessions as demonstrations
- Opportunites to develop real connections with other participants
- Morning tea
- Resources and handouts including conversation cards and prompts
Education topics include:
- Exercise in pregnancy
- Pelvic floor dysfunction including the overactive pelvic floor
- Navigating pelvic girdle pain in pregnancy
- Positioning for labour and birth from a physio perspective
- Preventing and managing perineal tears
- Evidence based birth choices
- Recovery post vaginal and caesarean birth
- Returning to exercise safely post birth
- When to see a Pelvic Health Physio
- And more!!
Sessions commence on Saturday 18th October and run fortnightly. Dates are as follows. All sessions run from 10am-11:30am.
